Representing at the Regional's for excellence
Mornington Peninsula Gourmet, together with Restaurants & Catering Victoria, recently hosted the Regional Awards for Excellence and the 5 Senses (Victoria) team jumped at the opportunity to combine work with pleasure, enjoying the delectable regional produce whilst showcasing 5 Senses coffee for the event.
The Regional Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding feats across a wide range of dining categories, from fine dining restaurants to casual café’s, bistros and more. With almost 50 venues involved, the judges had some difficult decisions to make — and some extra hours to put in at the gym!
The 5 Senses crew were lucky enough to be honoured guests at the Regional Awards for Excellence Producers Lunch and enjoyed a seven course degustation menu showcasing fresh local produce, in a menu designed by executive chef Tim Menger, featuring The Ground, The Produce, The Sea, The Land, The Farm, The Fruit and The Table. It wouldn’t be a Mornington Peninsula event without stunning local wines to match the menu.
The amazing gastronomic afternoon concluded in style, with 5 Senses’ roaster, Caleb, whipping up impressive coffees for the diners, complete with latte art. We chose to use the Gattica blend — a stunning combination of Peru Organic and PNG Fairtrade beans.
The Producers Lunch was a precursor to the Regional Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, which 5 Senses also attended, cheering on a number of 5 Senses ‘family members’ including Ten Minutes by Tractor, Red Hill Brewery, Max’s at Red Hill Estate, Pier 10 and Vines of Red Hill. All of us at 5 Senses join in giving these wineries a round of applause — both for their excellence in coffee and their achievements in the Regional Awards for Excellence.
