Looking Good in Tights
When our new recruit, Mark Chandler (WABA Trainer Extraordinaire) told us that his step-daughter, Emma, had won a place at the Royal Ballet School in London, we weren’t all that surprised. After all, Mark was renowned for his nifty footwork on the basketball court in his younger days, and rumour has it, that these days he carves up the dance floor at dubious nightclubs around town.

Whether Mark’s fancy footwork rubbed off on Emma or not, her acceptance into the Royal Ballet School in London was no mean feat — Emma beat thousands of other hopeful applicants to secure her place in their prestigious Summer School.
Emma, who has been doing ballet since she was three years old, will be able to arabesque and pirouette alongside elite dance students from around the world.
Being a family-oriented sort of company, we at 5 Senses were keen to lend our support to Emma. But we thought we should stick to what we do best. None of us own pointe shoes, and unlike the professionals, the 5 Senses boys definitely wouldn’t look good in tights! So we stuck with the coffee (what we do best) and created an exclusive ‘Ballet Blend’ especially for Emma.
It came a little easier than expected. Like all great ballet dancers, our blend needed an ethereal lightness supported by a strong core and great persistence. The lightness comes from the Kenyan AA, a flighty and brilliant African coffee, and the strong core was provided by our Direct Trade PNG. The final inclusion, Columbian Pennsylvania, gives great length on the palate. Persistence indeed!
Like the best ballet dancers, this coffee is versatile, a great all-rounder that can be used in all brewing methods with excellent results. For every kilo of Emma’s special ‘Ballet Blend’ sold, 5 Senses Coffee will donate $15 to help Emma on her way to London.
