Kimbo plays the Scarecrow

Kimbo plays the Scarecrow in the recent Mandurah Performing Arts Production, Wizard Of Oz

We at Five Senses are a talented bunch, but it’s usually our (unbiased, of course) partners or long-suffering families who lavish us with the praise and admiration we deserve. This, however, isn’t the case for Production Supervisor, Kim Godleman (Kimbo to us).

Bo’s prowess on the stage has seen him appear in numerous musicals, notably his performance as the dashing Candlestick Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast and as Cinderella’s ugly step-sister.

This January, Bo joined the cast of The Wizard of Oz, presented by the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, playing the Scarecrow. After three long months of rehearsals, Bo and the cast (including his twin sister Jennifer as Dorothy) played to 4,500 people over ten shows in two weeks. Bo was highly praised for his ‘loveable’ rendition of the Scarecrow by fans and the critics.

“I saw the production on Saturday night and thought it was fantastic, from start to finish!” [one fan wrote]

The performances by all of the cast were phenomenal! I believed every word and emotion that the characters portrayed to the audience as if they were my own. [said a critic]

The Scarecrow (Kim Godleman), Tin Man (Jesse Angus) and Lion (Darren Bilston) were wonderfully different from each other and captured the roles really well.” [said another critic]

We consider ourselves lucky to experience Bo’s talent everyday. His voices, characters and impressions are very entertaining and makes the culture at Five Senses what it is today. We congratulate Bo on his stellar performance, and we look forward to his next venture on the stage.
