Dana stacks on the weight

Dana

It has been confirmed … Dana has not stacked on weight from massive overeating — she’s actually pregnant and due in early November.

As Dana prepares for motherhood and embarks on a short break from Five Senses, we thought we’d reflect on her fantastic time here over the last four years. Dana began at Five Senses in 2003 — the Early Days. This was back in the day when everyone chipped in to get the coffee roasted, packed and out to the customer. If you had a driver’s license and a car and happened to be driving within 20kms of a customer — you found yourself delivering too. Dana was also the orchestrator of Five Senses Coffee being available fresh on the shelves of WA’s finest Gourmet Stores. Now Dana is more involved in the accounts area and gets to do what all girls love — spend money.

But it’s not all work and no play for Dana. She has a life outside of Five Senses too. Dana is a trained yoga teacher and married to Mark Longton, author of Healthy Food — Healthy Mind, and Executive Chef at Perth Clinic.

Dana practices yoga six times a week for two hours a day, with 5:30am starts (ouch!) at 8 Limbs Ashtanga Yoga Studio. She began yoga as an interest but it quickly became a love and passion, which gave her the drive to finish a three-year apprenticeship consisting of serious practical training and theory. Throughout her pregnancy Dana has kept up her daily yoga practice and even now at about seven months is still teaching.

Due on 3 November, Dana is looking forward to satisfying one of her biggest cravings over the past few months — coffee. She will definitely wind up back at Five Senses soon because don’t forget people, it’s just a break … Dana will be back soon.
