Shaughan showing off with his IT skills

Shaughan’s computer literacy has been a source of laughter around the Five Senses office, and we thought it was time to recognise the progression of his abilities.

Shaughan has certainly embraced the information super-highway as his new skills have escalated to new heights.

Today, 1 March 2007 — Shaughan has added two new skills to his repertoire.

On top of being a master at cut and paste, the first new skill is using the Control B, Control I, and Control U features, to automatically apply Bold, Italics and Underlining. He is so excited about this new skill, he was caught standing over the shoulder of our IT manager passing on his knowledge.

Secondly, he learnt how to double click somewhere to highlight a whole word and triple click for the paragraph. This one rocked his world.

What we can’t say is that he has progressed from the awkward hunched over the keyboard posture, with downward pointing index fingers, poised ready for a flurry of two finger typing. Maybe 100 words a minute typing is the next step — or maybe not!

Shaughan has suggested he run a few ‘Computer Skills 101’ courses for all the noobs out there (as he calls them) — we’ll let you know if the course gets off the ground.
